API – Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients are portions of any drug, which are active. Certain drugs are comprised of more than one kind of API.
BIO-PHARMACEUTICALS – Bio-pharmaceuticals are medical drugs produced using biotechnology. The large majority of bio-pharmaceutical products are pharmaceuticals that are derived from life forms.

GENERIC – Generic is a word that indicates the equivalent to a brand name product in dosage, strength, route of administration, quality, performance and intended use.
LABEL – Label is a piece of Paper, Polymer, Cloth, Metal and other material affixed to a container or article on which is printed a legend, information concerning the product, addresses etc.
MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY – Medicinal Chemistry is a chemistry discipline concerned with the design, development and synthesis of pharmaceutical drugs.
MICROBIOLOGIST – is an expert or a student of microbiology. He investigates the growth, structure, development, and other characteristics of microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, algae, or fungi. Includes medical microbiologists who study the relationship between organisms and disease or the effects of antibiotics on microorganisms.
OTC – Over – The – Counter means drugs or medicines sold directly to a consumer without a prescription from healthcare professionals, as opposed to prescription drugs, which may only be sold to consumers processing a valid prescription.
PATENT – Patent is one of the major forms of Intellectual Properties Right (IPRs) used in pharmaceutical industries. A government authority or licence conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.
PHARMACIST – Pharmacist is a person who is licensed to prepare and dispense drugs and medicines.
PHARMACOGNOSY – A branch of pharmacology dealing with medicinal substances of biological origin and especially medicinal substances obtained from plants.
PHARMACOLOGY–  The science of drugs including their origin, composition, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic use, and toxicology.
PHARMACOPOEIA – A book describing drugs, chemicals, and medicinal preparations; especially: one issued by an officially recognized authority and serving as a standard.
PHARMACY – The art, practice, or profession of preparing, preserving, compounding, and dispensing medical drugs.
PHARMACEUTICS – Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with all facets of the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a safe and effective medication. Pharmaceutics is the science of dosage form design. Pharmaceutics deals with the formulation of a pure drug substance into a dosage form.
PHARMACODYNAMICS – Pharmacodynamics is the study of biochemical and physiological effects of drugs and mechanism of their action, including the correlation of their action and effects.
PHARMACOKINETICS – Pharmacokinetics is a study of the movement of drugs in the body, including the process of absorption, distribution, localization in tissues, bio transformation and excretion.
PRESCRIPTION – Prescription is a legally requires for the drugs dispensed in pharmaceutical industries.
SPECIALTY DRUGS – Specialty drugs are high cost prescription medications used to treat complex, chronic condition like cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
TOXICOLOGY – Toxicology is a field of science that helps us understand the harmful effects that chemicals substances can have on people, animals and the environment.
